Mr. Anup Kumar Das is an information, communication and documentation expert working in Centre for Studies in Science Policy at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. He is also attached with UNESCO New Delhi office as an information expert (external consultant) in the Communication and Information Sector. He is pursuing his doctoral research in Jadavpur University, India where he has chosen his thesis title as "An Evaluative Study of Some Selected Libraries in India Undergoing the Process of Digitization". His research interests revolve around the ICT for Development, Information Policies, Digital Libraries, Digital Archives, Open Access to Scholarly Literature, e-Learning and e-Governance. He was a recipient of SIDA/IFLA Travel Grant for attending WLIC 2006 at Seoul, Korea and NDLTD Travel Grant for attending ETD 2007 at Uppsala, Sweden. He is a member of professional societies, such as, Indian Library Association (ILA), Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), Information and Communication Societies of India (ICSI), and Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI).
