Hello from the Pacific. I work with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community[1]'s Land Resources Division [2] and am interested in topics that dealing with taking using web2 tools to bring information/knowledge to the farming communities.

The past 2 days have been enriching. It has opened my eyes to the practical uses of web2 and where it is actually working in farming communities. I look forward to the remaining presentations and am picking out topics that will be relevant to our needs.

Many of you may have seen our presentation on the use of VSAT technology and OLPC to enable internet access to timely information/knowledge to remote/rural farming communities.[3]

I am abit skeptical about Web2 and if it will work in the Pacific. Having Web2 tools maybe heavy on the bandwidth and with the limitations and high costs of bandwidth it may result in users not being able to access the information at all.

Again i thank the organisers for giving us an opportunity to attend this Web2 conference. So many interesting topics so little time....
